Maya Fur Constantly Changes

So I have 3 fur descriptions on a single piece of geo and no matter what I do, everytime I re-open the file, the fur descriptions change it's attributes. For example, one render will be short fur and when I reopen the same file (after baking out the attributes and saving the file) the fur will be a darker or lighter color and have a different length. No matter what I do, this happens all the time. It's a pain in the ass to adjust these settings all the time and then having them erased.

And yes, I am saving new versions and the old versions get messed up as well. And I definitely bake out all the attributes and yet it still consistently messes up.

Has anyone ever encountered this and/or fixed it?

Never run into this. Try creating presets out of the 3 fur descriptions, and if it doesn't apply them in a consistent manner, then something sounds wacky.
