mi_car_paint_phen an AO

how can i add ambiant oclusion to my mi_car_paint_phen shader if i am not doing an AO pass in pot?

(i know that for other shaders one can plug the material to the bright slot of the AO texture node and plug that texture to the diffuse slot of that same material)
