game design

hi 2 all,
i am a computer engineer and looking forward 2 change my career into game design.......
should i do a game design course in Canada or i should get some experience 1st in India and then go 2 Canada........i don't have an art background and also since i have just graduated i don't have any work experience yet but, does it really matter as i am changing my career?????? Also please kindly inform me if i should i go for vanarts or vfs or some similar schools and would i get a job there in Canada based on my demo reel itself or do i require some experience 2............plz help
