Tiger stripes??

I modeled a cartoony tiger and i wanted to add some tiger stripes to him..He is only gonna to be used for still images.. Anyone know how i can achieve this??

paint stripes on texture, apply texture?

UVs would probably be the most accurate. But with cartoony characters, you might be able to get away with a vertex color map. Here's a tutorial link:

Yeah i tryed vertex color map and i can't get the lines thin enough to make stripes... I have also tryed uvs but can't seem to get them right...T4TR<-- thanks 4 the replies..
