help! about baking light maps

Using 3Ds Max. I managed to bake my light maps fine in the 'Render to Texture.'

Does anyone know how to make it viewable when I hit the quick render button?

This is what I did. In my material editor, I created a composite material and created 2 slots. The first is diffused and the second which is the lightmap. Does that sound correct? However, when I deleted all my lights in my scene, I'm unable to see the light maps baked on the textures when I do a quick render. I can only see the diffuse or just the light maps separately when I check them on and off in the composite material.

Am I doing this right?
