Anyone Familiar with X3d format?

Hi All,

I have a client that wants to know if I can output to the X3d format which seems to be a sort of Web based interactive 3d format. Has anyone here ever used it ? I guess the real question is can it be used with EIAS ?

Bill,

not directly. You could use a converter like PolyTrans, which is able to read and write both FACT and X3D files:

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the responses. I've read up a bit on the subject and was just trying to determine if this was something that any of my software already supports. Unfortunately the areas of the websites that list application support seem to be dead links. The only applications mentioned anywhere seem to be Max and Maya. It even seems that their exporters are out of date since this is a developing technology.

At the moment it appears that this is neither EI compatible nor a project that falls within the scope of what I do by way of 3d. Oh well.
