DWIV - 3D - anav_83 - L1NX

Hello all!

This is my first time taking part in DW, I hope I can do a good job on it! At first I wanted to try my hand with one of the Norms, but then I saw the Machine Scouts and decided that sounded better for me. I've already started doing some pencil sketches but I don't have my camera around so for now here's a brief description of my scout. Good Luck to everyone else!

L1NX Prototype Design Notes:

The L1NX Scout is an animal hybrid comprised of parts of the long extint terran lynx mixed with the highest technology available to Machines. The L1NX is fast and capable of performing incredible leaps and jumps. The L1NX relies on stealth rather than weapons for the most part, but if forced to defend itself it can do so with its metal - tipped claws and the various poisoned dart shooters at the end of its tail. The L1NX is often accompanied by one or more of the smaller M0U53 undefended scouts that assist it while gathering intel.

I finally had time to upload my sketches. I have a pretty good idea of how I want the legs and head to look like but I'm still playing around with body shapes so any input would be appreciated on this thumbnails:

I'm leaning towards a more spidery shape like thumbnail #8 but I'm still not sure. What do you all think?

Here's a concept sketch of the legs:

#8 is cool but like you said, it's really more of a spider than a Lynx. If you want to stick with the Lynx, I'd develop thumbnail #2, and shorten it's body a little bit. Good luck!

That's the one I've been working more on, but since it's a machine I didn't know if I should add some crazier elements instead of sticking to a more traditional lynx silhouette... I'll do some more sketches for that thumbnail either way

You can still use the elements you’ve designed but I would go back to some silhouettes. Try looking photographic reference of different cats. Take those forms that you studied and try manipulating them. It might help you come up with designs that are more recognizably feline in origin.
