LightWave Benchmarks

Hi all,

Does everyone on here know about Chris Blanos' LightWave benchmark site? It's a good way of comparing your machine against other people with scenes that come with every LightWave. I figure that I might be preaching to the choir, but if you haven't seen it, have a look (I might be fanning the Mac/PC flame war, but hey)...

You can find it at: http://www.blanos.com/benchmark/

B
Using a machine that gives a result of 216.6 on the Raytrace scene...

Yeah, we actually had quite a few discussions about benchmarks over the last two weeks. Did you do a keyword search?

Hi Ben.

I think I'll try my optimised Athlon set up on those scenes. I'm curious as hell.

Do! And post your results too, like Matt Clary. The service can only improve the more people put results. I'd really like folk to put in Linux Screamernet results as well so we can add those into the platform argument mix...

BTW Chris isn't paying me for this plug but so many times I get asked, as a function of tech support, which processor to go for etc. that I just thought it would make sense to post the info. I'm sorry I didn't search the archives to look for previous references to his site, but I figure it's worth mentioning again!
