Problems with colours

Hi all!
I'm making some pointless image of myself just for fun. I just don't know what colors could i use (on right side) and how. There is just too much red. Even thought muscles (yes, those suppose to be musles) are red, it probably wouldn't look like that (there should probably be some hightlights in different color).
As i said.. it's just for fun, no details, muscles are weird and unrealistic, this picture is pointless but i would like to fix that colors anyway.
I usualy don't ask for help but search on google or try something by myself but i'm really stocked now.
Any help would be really, really appreciate.

UPDATE:

Thanks in advance.

I like the way you built that up wo0lF

I hope you dont mind I copied your image and played about with it:

I think the colour is pretty much fine - that image seems pretty gory so I think people are more likely to get caught up in the details

I think that image is missing specular light - cause its kinda gooey muscle - at the moment its a bit plastic like and flat

Often I just play around with filters and auto levels etc to see what pops up:

I threw that on the original as a screen layer:

mask some of it in out etc, also some of the blacks are too dark in comparison to the other side, and the cut down your face looks a bit perfect - I think your image is pretty realistic so stay away from perfection like that - and there's probably some layers you'd see under that skin - blood, flesh, fat etc - gross!

Interesting result. Don't know why but i didn't thought about those filters. If i use filters, i just use blur and noise reducer.
I might try something like that on next "project". You can get really nice result.

Tnx for tip
