Motionbuilder v404 free until July 1st

Don't know if anyone checked the last page of Policarpo thread "you deserve to order motionbuilder today", but ub52 posted a link to Kaydara's site where you can get a copy of Motionbuilder v404 1yr license for free.

So those of us who missed or can't get the copy of digit magazine are in luck. they have both pc and mac versions available as well as the fbx plugin.

thank ub52 for the find... as for me... I'm just spreading the love.

Thank you very much for the link. I greatly appreciate it.

Is that different from having bought it in the magazine?

I'm not sure if it's different or not. Those of you who have the one from digit, what is the version number? It's probably the same.

Only in that the mag. has the 4.02 version . . but the point releases are free upgrades, anyway . . .

Well, I guess you havent received any of Kaydara's newsletters either. It seems that kaydara either does selective mailing of these newsletters or they badly need an intern to srot out their mailing policy.

Anyway, the best way to find out about these things is to spend some time in the Motion Builder forum at Kaydara's site.

There is no difference between 4.03 and 4.04 beside a small fix in the licensing used for promotions.

So there is no need to upgrade to 4.04

What's the difference between this MotionBuilder 4.04 Personal and the professional version besides the limited 1-year license?

Old 06 June 2003   #11
No feature differences
Personal Edition cannot be used by studios (freelancing is ok)

I just downloaded your program from the web and I look forward to using it and learning it. I may be presumptive, but I believe that I fit a segment of the demographic you're trying to reach. As 3-D goes, I'm merely a hobbyist at this point, a professional writer who enjoys dabbling in computer graphics.

But I suspect that after the year free license is up, I would be willing to extend it. Do you yet have an idea of what options you will be offering us? Will we have to pay the full production house price. Or will there continue to be a PE.

You'll be able to upgrade to Motionbuilder 5 Standard (a permanent edition) for $200, anytime between the release of MB5 (early September) and Dec. 31, 2003.
