Still Life: Oranges

edit: updated pic farther down

I had some time to kill this morning, and I was a bit bored so I decided to make a still life scene. The oranges look a tiny bit glassy or wet, but I don't feel like tweaking it anymore so i'm leaving it as is.

theres a second version here, but i'm not sure which one I like more.

I like the second pic slightly more. Also you should totally tweak the specularity, if you got that perfect then these oranges would be photorealistic. Also, nice wood texture. Great job fakie.

u know that the oranges are are bit shiny, why not turn the reflection. The texture really good, and i like the hdri. Its almost perfect.

I prefer the first one, the second looks a bit like lemons.

Nice work.

As we've all said, you should tone down the reflections a tad (although oranges are actually somewhat shiny), but this is a truly awesome render! I'm not sure which of the two render I like more, probably the second one - it fits "oranges" better IMO.
If someone offers a penny for your thoughts, and you give them your two cents, where does the other penny go?

ok ok, I decided just to open it back up real quick and turn down the reflection so heres the new and final version, with less glossiness:

again, theres a second brighter version here

that's very nice ! the background looks a little empty... It makes this picture a bit too "classic", but that's cool anyway

The wood texture most likely came from this site, though it might have come from this one

Bump map needs to be a little more wrinkly and the color is a little off. Needs more orange and less yellow I think.

BTW, too good for BHD??? :shame:

pretty damn good - I could use some vodka with those

btw....the sticker shouldn't have a 'bump' to it - just checking out my actual ones, cuz I wasn't sure - but most stickers are relatively smooth, shiny, i.e. plastic surface....

very good otherwise though - put it in a mag and not tell anyone it was rendered and they would never guess.......
