So id like to make a steampunk robot, where the robots takes shape as pharaohs.

this is just the first of many head concepts to come.

going to be fun! :D

edit: should have put this in the concept/ pre - vis... sorry.

Concept / pre-visualization: Concept

didnt pay much attention to the head this time, spent more time figuring out what the chest would look like... still gotta work more on it.

Looks good, however the one thing that I notice is that outside of what looks like people inside the robots face housing, there is no real sense of scale. Showing the Bot walking through trees or in some sort of enviorment would really help sell that sense of scale. =)
There is no one right way to do anything.
Only the un-explored ways. =)

Darksuit, thanks alot! ill be sure to add something that shows the robots scale in the next concept, thanks again.

Concept / pre-visualization: Mood and size

Hey guys, did a really quick 1 hour sketch when i woke up today. just to try to find the palette or colors id like to work with in the final image.

i also did this piece to try and show the size of the robot.

also not sure about the design, its not that creative, though i think the ladder is funny. and that the structure of the robot is like a coffin.

Thanks, BSB! :D

I love the concept! While it's no relation to it, it reminds me of the scarab robots in 5th Element (movie). The colour scheme looks warm enough, though have you considered any different perspectives or angles?

It ain't over till the Fat Lady shatters some glass.

Concept / pre-visualization: Hand Cannon Concept

right after breakfast, i did some hand concepts. thought it would be cool if the hands had some kind of weapon on them...

might re design it, just to see how far i can go with it... i will do more concepts for the hands.

zachlost: Thanks man!

yeah, the final image will not have the same angle as that mood picture.

for the final image im planing on having this really epic world war 2 scenery, where there's Pharaoh robots, against some army... yeah..

dont know if i want the angle to be from the army's view or from the pharaoh robot.

would be cool to have the view from over the shoulder of a robot... ill try to design something..

thanks again!

Thumbs up

great looking concepts. Love the mode and lighting.
really looking forward to see where this will take you.

About the comment from our Egyptian friend... Most of the time the fantasy in our head is much better than reality in my opinion.
Vikings never had helmets with horns on, or probably never used helmets much at all. but it sure looks cool!
And for those who liked the style and look of Beowolf. Denmark never looked like that not even i old times.

So go with your gut feeling i say. fantastic things may emerge.
