Concept / pre-visualization: Medusa chair

Here's my first concept image for the challenge. I've already got some changes in mind, but it should be a good starting point.

Concept / pre-visualization: Medusa & snake concept

So here's my conceptual drawing of Mudusa and her snakes. As you can see, Medusa's a bit bald. I know it's a pretty big departure from the original story, but it will hopefully fit the steampunk aesthetic better.

The three types of snake heads I'll be including will be lens (which blind the victim), gas and poison-injecting. Essentially Medusa blinds her victims and uses the gas and poison to petrify her victims.

This whole thing's getting a lot more complicated than I originally anticipated. It's been a fun process so far, though.

Concept / pre-visualization: Perseus and victim

So, here's my last concept drawing. The guy on the top is the victim, basically a standard grunt-type. The guy on the bottom is our hero, Perseus. The thing next to him is the invisibility drive he's got installed in his chest armor. He also wears a helmet (it's a mirror, get it? holy crap I'm clever).

Anyhow, I'll have to start doing some real work on this piece, which is where my resolve starts to break down and my lack of skill shows itself. I'll be weeping in frustration in no time. Wish me luck.

That's beautifull! I really like it! Are you going to make it on 3d i guess ?

It's actually going to be a 2d painting. I've never really worked through a conceptualization process before doing a major work, so I figured I'd try it this time and hope for the best.

Thanks for your interest, by the way.

Thumbs up

I really like the Medusa, because she is wearing a dress from the steam-age. But the victime and the hero are more futurist looking, a friendly advice... keep all the characteres on the same age-dress ;-)
