Motion Builder Key to LW Dongle

It would be great if Motion Builder would key to our Lightwave dongle or for non-LW users just a USB dongle. This would allow portability between laptop and desktop for freelancers. Similar to the way Lightwave works.

With the upcoming release of MOTIONBUILDER v5.0, there will be two different versions

Standard Edition ($995) : no dongles, new serial number system
Professional Edition ($3500) : USB dongles

If you bought your copy from either 3Dbuzz of Kaydara's store, it will cost you $100.

If you got a free copy thru Digit, it will cost you $200.

So basically this means that with the "Base" edition, our copy will be tied to one machine? Please say it isn't so...

So we can upgrade directly from the Freeloader err... Freelancer edition ($100) to the Standard Edition v5.0 ($100)?

I figured we would have to pay the $100 for the permanent license before upgrading for another $100.

Either way. You guys are INSANE
THANKS

It's still not clear to me...

Will the freelancer edition become the standard edition?

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere ont he forum and apologize for bringing it up again...

Also, I'n the future, Will i be able to move the app from say, Mac to PC? Transfer License?

thanks

Not sure if this is right, but here is my understanding...

I'm pretty sure the only difference is that the Freelancer edition expires after a year. And the standard has no expiration.

You pay $100 to go from the Freelance to standard edition. If you got the freelance edition free through Digit, you pay $200 to go from the freelance to the standard edition.

I'm still unsure if you can upgrade directly from the current freelance edition to the upcoming v5 standard edition.

I'd also be interested in whether we'll be able to transfer licenses from Mac to PC or vice-versa. I'm on a Mac now, but I'm planning on buying a PC towards the end of this year/beginning of next year...I'd hate to have to buy another copy of MB so I could use it on the PC too...
