Question A question about MentalRay dielectric_material

Hay guys,i want to make a bottle of red wine in maya.I use MentalRay dielectric_material,but i think it is to much transparency,i want it to be more mellow,i tried mib_opacity node,but it didn't work.does someone know solution?thank you

Hmm...

Dielectric material in Maya is deprecated. Try using mia_material or mia_x instead?

Which version of Maya are you using?

I use Maya 8.5
The bellow two pictures,the first is i made in maya,the second is i wanna it to be

...didn't work, try using ImageShack instead?

Here's a quick example of mia_material. Don't bother with the dielectrics, they are very limited and although they can work, they are often buggy and don't work well with lights anymore.

Aha!

I understand now... You're trying to render Cognac! Yum!

On the glass material, are you overriding the Maya shaders entirely? I think a little reflection or refraction blur should do the trick, but honestly your glass looks pretty good to me. A little too clean, but perhaps a very light, non-noisy bump map could help your glass have a little more realism? It's flawless right now, and if anything too clean, but I think it looks great this way.
