Setting a key when a key is set

Here is what I am trying to do:

A custom Property has a parameter, which is a combo box. When the combo box is changed some calculations should be made and when a key is set, another key is also set (for example the posx value of an object). And when the key from the combo box parameter is removed the other key should also be removed.

The problem is that there is no such thing (as far as I know) as a callback that looks if a key is set. When a key is set however, the onChanged callback is triggered. But obviously I donít want to set a key every time the dropdown box is changed.

The only thing I can think of is comparing the animation curves of both parameters, but that would be very elaborate and I doubt it would even work. Iím sure there must be an easier way.
