How can I record a sound that is played in a Windows section?
No pain, no gain.

Most Windows sounds, played by the OS are wav files and can be found by doing a search *.wav. It's releatively easy to convert those wav's to mp3 or any other audio format using almost any of the shareware audio programs available for download from the Web.

If you want to record directly from your PC, then a line out cable from your sound card to another PC or tape recorder or digital recorder with line-in capability should work. I don't think you can loop within the same pc, line out to line in on the same sound card and record that.

Send a message via ICQ to lehmi

you could download audacity.
It's freeware.

Press the big red record button once you've opened it. Then choose "stereomix" in the upper right corner. Adjust the volume of the microphone and you're already recording.
You can now save as wav or mp3 if you have the lame codec installed.

This way you can record everything your pc plays. Youtube, Myspace music, film music - everything - as if you're using a loop cable.
