A Virtual Lift

I used C4D to create/modify the objects used and rendered
it in C4D with post-work done in Photoshop. The little
crane is programmatically generated using 3Dliftplan, an
online virtual jobsite renderer. The idea was to add
depth to the concept of doing crane lift plans anytime
and from anywhere in the world - universe - even.

Cool idea, nice piece. Here are a few crits: (1) It looks like the stars and background are a re scaled photo. It doesn't match the resolution of the earth, and it looks upsampled. And too, on the stars, the black isn't true black so it gives the appearance of lower quality. (2) The shameless plug of 3Dliftplan.com is annoyingly distracting in my opinion. At least the font is; why not make it the same font as the other text? I think this could be a cool composition. It is a nice render on the earth and crane, but the background and stars take away from it greatly, b/c it looks like a warped photo that is almost pixelated. Just some thoughts. Keep up the good work though.

Thank you

Thanks. Good Crit. I see your point. I wanted the swirled hazy effect but I agree.. it
looks kinda cruddy too. I'm not sure what to replace it with -- will ponder. And the
shamelessnessss.. is because this had purpose.
