Opening Scene Thoughts...
For the first two scenes in the story board I'm tossing around some departure dialogue.
One of the characters on the ship will be kinda like Kirk from Star Trek. Particularly, the space-whore part of Kirk. Kirk would sleep with anything. Didnt matter if it was blue, green, had 3 legs or whatever. He would nail it. LOL.
[Exterior shot of ship, with view of cockpit, lights are out on the bridge with a faint yellow glow. Transition to yellow volume effect glowing from bottom of screen as camera zooms out to reveal glow is coming from the captains pants as the crew looks on]
Male voice:"It doesnt look that bad"
Female voice:"Could be usefull if we run out of batteries"
Captain:"What do you think it is Doc?"
[As Doc gives Captain a shot in the arm]
Doc:"Maybe your body is crying out for help by warning others around you!?"
[Male and Female look at each other]
Doc:"No, but you're going to die and its highly contagious"
[Male and Female take one large step backwards from captains chair]
Captain: [some snappy comeback]
[High pitched squeaks blare over com system as computer translates]
Computer (Dolphin translation):"I've found it"
Captian:"Say again...You found what?"
Computer (Dolphin translation):"The source of the deep space signal! Shall I plot a course"

I had to jump thru several hoops and alot of web searching in order to get Vista SP1 to even download, plus several compaines are avoiding it like the plague. So, I thought it'd be funny to have that be the ships security system.
[The crew is walking down the ramp onto the surface of the planet. The Male crew member is cautious because he doesnt have a name, just crewman #6 (ala StarTrek), the rest of the crew waits at the top of the ramp until crewman #6's feet reach the ground.]
Captain: "Are you still alive?"
Male voice: "Yes, I think so...yes, yes I'm definately still alive."
Captain: "Walk around a lil bit..maybe they cant see you"
Male voice: "Captain!"
[The rest of the crew disembarks]
Doc:"Did you have that security system installed yet?"
Captain:"Yeah, but due to certain unexpected expenses I had to go with something different."
Doc:"Unexpected expenses. You mean the antidote for your lil glow-in-the-dark problem? Does it at least have shields, lazers, or guns or something?"
Captain: "Nah, even better"
[Captain pulls keys from pocket and clicks button to activate security system. A red swirling and flashing emergency cone emerges from the top and bottom of the ship, as words scroll horizontally around the ship that read, "This ships runs MS Veesta SP1"]
[Camera pans upwards to reveal a cloaked pirate ship, which uncloaks and flies away. Startling the crew. Camera rotates to show an overhead shot of entire landing party.]
Captain: "Is everyone okay?"
Uplifted Dolphin: "Something is wrong. No, something is very wrong."
Captain: "What is it? Did...did...they make ice tea in your bowl again while you where sleeping?"
[Sound wave visual effect with strong bass background noise starts radiating in towards dolphin. As dolphin begins to pass out, camera zooms in for close-up]
Uplifted Dolphin: "Dont you hear it......"

There will be limited dialogue in the final scene. I want to increase the pace for a dramatic and chaotic finish, using camera angles, visual cues and music.
From the time the dolphin passes out, to the big reveal of the giant sea creature, I want to portray utter chaos.
* The pilars that support the roof in the underground enclosure that the giant sea creature lives in (see reference), extend up to the planets surface. And this is the mechanism that brings the crew down into the planets interior. I still need a way to transition them from: basically a big flat rock that's stuck on the top of a pole, to the walkway that overlooks the basin of water that the creature lives in, without killing anyone.
* Tie-in the features of the enclosure that the dolphin builds on the ship to some features of the enclosure that the giant sea creature lives in. Maybe the pilars of the underground enclosure are represented somehow in the dolphins enclosure on the ship.
* A Quentin Tarantino switch at the end: (A) The landing party is food for the guards, (B) The giant sea creature represents the final uplift of the dolphin, or (C)
Its a trap by the galactic council, the sea creature didnt send the signal.
