.X Export?

I am thinking about getting back into XSI. Haven't used it since version 3 or so. Big question. Does XSI export to the .X format (for use in game engines)? How easy or difficult is it to do this? Are textures and skinned animations exported as well?

Anyone out there?

It seems that exporting to the .X format would be a common goal for CG artists. Has anyone had experience exporting to this format from XSI?

The .x-format is supported by XSI. It's use is, as far as I know, not unproblematic, but that might be caused by the format itself, not XSI... Other ways of getting data into a game engine would be COLLADA-Export from XSI or the "Valve Source Engine"-addon. Recently even a plug-in for use with the Cryengine 2 has been unveiled. Hope this helps!
