Developing character

I've recently written up an article on the importance of character development and ways to make your characters interesting through a back story.

You can find it here,

Take care,

Nice article Tito

I'd probably contest that Pac Man has 'a back-story' though.
  • What is the character’s back-story?
He is a yellow ball with a flapping mouth.
  • What’s happening in their present situation?
He is eating everything.
  • What is their current environment like? Has it always been this way?
It's a maze filled with ghosts. Yes?
  • What relationships do they have within the story?
Ghosts eat him, he eats ghosts.
  • What is the character’s mannerisms like?
Like a yellow ball with a flapping mouth.
  • What are their personalities like?
Greedy
  • What is their disposition?
Hungry.
  • Age, sex, name?
Unknown, male, Pac Man.
  • What is their appearance like? Are they tall, short, muscular, thin, overweight?
Yellow, spherical, flappy.
  • What clothes/armor/uniform do they wear?
None.
  • What is their job/role within the story?
Eating.
  • What are their offensive and defensive capabilities?
Eating.

Seriously though, is your character development for a serious project or for a personal exercise?

Lol you got me there AJ, I guess I was thinking more 'iconic' when I chose him . As for the project, it is a personal venture for now

AikoWorld I'm happy to hear that you got something from it!

nice to see you mention the master chief. you would not believe some of the backstory in the halo universe...

http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page - a lot of our fans take the universe very seriously, as do we.
