Phone cable, help

Okay I have a character holding a payphone, and I need a dynamic cable from the handset to the payphone so I dont have to dirtyanimate it. The words dynamic constraint come to mind, but I'm wondering if there is another way to do it. Or how I would specifically constrain the dynamic constraint.

You could place some bones along the length of the cord then use spline ik and some soft bodies with goal weights add some graviety and your away !

Probobly a bit late...but...another way you can do it dynamically (saving you tons of keyframe time) is to use a Cloth simulation...if you want me to get into details..I will
