Getting A video of an songs EQ Wave.

I have been bashing my head against this for the past few days. I just need to plug in a song and record its bar eq to use in a project that im on. I dont care if the solution is in max, combustion, aftereffects, word. I just need to get that video. I have looked at Milkdrop and its not for sell as of now on obviousFX LLC. I have also found plugins that will drive animation from a song, but not give me the bar EQ that I need.

I need help, and I could use it as soon as possible. If someone knows of a better place to post this question that would be helpfull.

Thanks,

R.

One way that Gary Davis uses is to apply the sound as a wave controller in 3ds Max to a fully illuminated white sphere or cube. Render against black and the use the tracker in Combustion to apply the motion to another channel.
