Concept Sketch or 3D pre-visualization: Evolution's a Bitch or The Angler

Ok, so here's my first idea.

I thought of a scene with a guy admiring a beautiful mysterious woman in a darkened room, but if you look closely at the shadows in the background, you see that things are more dangerous than they appear.

After thinking this concept through I decided on creating a sort of evolution of an Angler fish. As if, looking up to the surface for eons, it had figured that it could catch tastier prey by heading upward and fishing using a different sort of bait. Gradually it's lighted appendage transformed and modeled itself after the idealized women attached to the front of boats.

This is my initial sketch of such a creature, it uses it's tantalizingly provocative forelimb to lure lust blinded swashbucklers toward it's gaping jaw.

The next step will be actually drawing a reference image of the full scene.

Opinions are very welcome.

A very funny, almost "Mirage" like concept. I hope it looks and sounds very fluid and dreamy.

Thanks guys. Yeah nightmare is definitely what I'm looking for. These fish have such a horrific yet surreal quality to begin with, they've always sort of captured my imagination.

So does anyone know what the nudity policy is fior this competition? Just wondering how much I have to cover this chick up.

Superb idea man. The lighting on this one could really sell the whole idea with a horrifying look as well as mixing it with the humor of the concept. Really give it a sweet dynamic camera too and I think you'll have something even better than you imagined.
