jeff lew is very good for the basics and mechanics of motion, some technical and workflow stuff but the keith lango VTS is by far supperior, while being expensive to catch up this far a long, it's worth every penny, sorry jeff!

cool thanx for the imput. I was leaning towards the vts stuff too, but to get every thing is around 300 bucks ..if you subscribe to the vts. keith seems like a super nice guy though. hes responded to a couple of emails with in a day or to of them being sent.
. has any of you guys tried the digital tutors videos?

I have tried the Digital Tutors DVD's, I must say I love their other DVD's but the Animation DVD's (exept the Facial animation series) seem to be a follow me and copy what I do sort of things. However, Keith's VTS is amazing it explains the 'mechanics' of animation in complete depth I would definately recommend these.

wow thanx guys i appreciate all the feed back. other forums i get one reply in a month [and it wasnt all that helpful] im gonna start up on the keith lango stuff and eventually buy those digital tutors.
I wanted some supplemental stuff before "hopefully" i start animation mentor.
which should be AMAZING.

once u get into the truly creative realms of animation as is explored with Keith, the Digital Tutors stuff will be really dry, as previosuly stated, lots of monkey see monkey do, which buttons to press software training style stuff. But still good luck in character animating, its only the coolest in the universe!

go to type the name of any book or dvd and press go, through some magic act, it will tell you the exact price and everything else you wanna know.

though i love sarcasim, i don't think its cool right now. They are asking how much book[s] //dvd[s] cost. They don't know the gerneral idea of it, then we as the community should help out. I don't want to have a huge argument and what not, I'm just saying lets be cool.

well asiandeep

indeed amazaon is just one place to check prices for items.
you can also look at - they search 12 different distro's and tells you the prices
htttp:// - art book sellers [buy claire wendlinings drawers 2.0]
they also sell instrution dvds and books ect

if you do a general google search for xxxxxx book prices you usually get a couple of good hits.

in general thoughg most dvds will set you back 50-60 bucks and same with the books

oh btw that bastard osepia just launched stop staring 2nd edition thats another 30 bucks down the drain.............

but books that are excellent that you should get in my opinion

the animators survival kit -30 bucks
the illusion of life - 60 bucks
timing foranimation - 20ish
acting for animators -20ish
thinking animation -30ish
simplified drawing for planning animation - 19
or you can go here for a collected walt stanchfield nots on that subject

drawing force 2nd edition -17 dollars
[ 1 buck more that 1st edition, better quality and more pages]
