Simple Transparency Issues
Okay. Lets say a have a simple reflective box in my scene. To control the reflections I make a sphere around the box so it had stuff to reflect. Also in the sphere visibility options I turn off primary visibility cuz I only want to see it in the reflections. Now here is the problem… if I turn the transparency of the reflective box all the way up it and hit render – there should be nothing in the scene. But when I render the box only seems to become 50% transparent just because I have the reflective sphere behind it.
WTF is going on? How come by box won’t become completely transparent? |

I suppose what you see are the reflections. Turn those off and your sphere will be 100 % transparent, if there's no specular showing that is.
