Al's sketches- idle hands doing all they may.

Latest!

Hey, another sketchbook. What are the odds?

I'd just like to thank my wife, the beautiful Sandra, for not ever giving me brain damage for turning up at home late because I was in drawing another pic of Hellboy or a chick with oversized breasts, or whatever. I mean it's not like there ain't a Wacom on the home PC etc etc. I digress.

Comments and feedback welcome from all. Likee? No likee? Boo you suck Al, give it up? You're a god and I must have you? Please rate me or post a reply, I love feedback despite rarely giving much of it myself. It's not 'cause I'm lazy, I just figure it's none of my business, oddly enough.

Classically, I'm not real good at the whole online community thing, so if you've ever posted a favourable remark and been affronted by my total lack of response, I apologise profusely, and I'll remember you in my dreams...

Lance and Gwen

First ever entry into the DSG, was trying to be clever with the whole paper texture thing. Anyway, mythological starcrossed lovers look great in sepia.

Merlin and Nimue

Continuing with the Camelot theme, a sketch of the old man and his apprentice. Did a colour version, it kinda sucked. Not shown. On the original post attempted to show my literary knowledge by using the celtic spelling 'Myrddin'. What a wanker.

When I grow up I want to be...

Taller. There's a story behind this, and you'll have to hunt for the original post to read it. I've wanted to finish this one for ages.

They only come out at night.

There's a story behind this one too. The world will never know.

Plane ride from hell.

Based on a shocking true story.

Evil versions of Disney characters.

My first 'sketch of the week' award. Very pleased with this one. If you're at all offended by this representation, there's a speil about it in my online folio. If you're still offended, no biggie.

Who else had a fun childhood?

Geek

Unkind maybe? Star Trek's a good show, but it's not a reason to live. If you're a Trekkie, I suggest you go camping or something.

Stalker

I think this one's okay, even though the reflection of the streetlight's in the wrong place.

Another SOTW award for this one. Done after being thrown out of the 'Mind, Body and Spirit' festival in Melbourne by my wife for taking the piss out of the pranic healing guy. I say taking the piss, they were giving it away really...

Self Portrait as a Samurai

Because basically, I wouldn't last three seconds. I'd get killed in the prologue.

Everyone else did pictures of Samurai again. I'm soooo clever...
