Gimbal Lock & XSI2 ?

The gimbal lock is caused by X and Z axis being in the same order after rotating the Y axis 90/-90 degrees

Re: Gimbal Lock & XSI2 ?

Bonjour,

You may take a look at those links:

http://www.isner.com/tutorials/quat...n_spells_14.htm
This explain how to use quaternions in XSI. The normal rotation system is the Euler system, wich sometimes results in gimbal locks. The quaternions are another system, and rotations is calculated differently. Heavy reading, though.

Nice little site. The explanation is more for 3ds max, but general enough to be applicable to XSI.

Hope this helps
Salutations - Cheers
