scatter a plane

can anobodu tell me how to do this effect? the plane 3d scattering?

check it to know what i mean

i guess the easiest way would be to pre-render out your movie (the side of the face in his case), create as many planes as you want and make sure they're right next to each other, and then just select them all and put a uvw map on them all at once. Once this is done you can apply a material to them with your pre-rendered movie in the diffuse slot and then it will look as if its just one big plane. Now just animate their position along 1 axis either by hand or randomly by script and you're done!
I noticed that there are more planes that are perpendicular with the first lot with a different pre-rendered movie on them (front of face). All you need to do is basically repeat this same process.

Hope this helps. Any other methods anyone else comes up with I'd be keen to hear
