Final entry on page 3!

hello everyone!

finally the sub-forum is online!
I must say I found the ancients theme quite diffucul to develop.. is diffucult not to fall on stargate clichès, damn!

well, these are the first ideas and thumbs:

then i developed the last one:

but well... not much "ancient" i think (tough i like how the proportions came out.. bio-engineering work FTW )
about the background she can be a new race of soldier, created in some hidden laboratory in a frozen planet... and finally clonated to get the dirt work done, in the dominance war II..

hmm.. must work more on this one..

EDIT: huh.. i forgot.. those tentacles are some kind of artificial sensors, and those things on the back are some kind of weapons (maybe futuristic boomerangs or swords or rifles..)
she is mainly a stealth soldier, infiltration, assassination and all that stuff..

Neat Idea, I always love when a character has something that can just kinda flow around with their movements or sticks off them like cloth, tenticles, and such. Those tenticles coming off the arms have some real coolness potential I think haha.

I think pretty much anything can be 'ancient' just convince yourself of it! heh looks ancient enough to me atleast.

yeah, I know what you mean. I'm trying to think up something that doesn't look like a bash of LOTR and Gundam. Arrghh! I've got to say, I really like that bottom sketch on your first sheet. Good luck!

heh thanks!

hmm, maybe ill'make her clothes more elegant and simple, less military looking (she's a superior being after all, elegance is pretty important! ;P )

for now i started blocking out the main shapes (for hi-poly sculpting), trying to mantain a good lineflow... but there's still a lot of work to do on the face
(i also made the head a little bigger 'cause in the concept it's very smaaaall )

Looks like a good start. The head enlargement looks like a good idea too!

I hope you plan to keep the elongated body look though, that's pretty neat.

THere's something interesting about the super lankyness of it though, with the small head.

You could ofset the svery tall body by having a huge plume of hair (going upwards against gravity?, or some sort of radial thing?) Might be something to experiment with.

yeah, elongated body rocks!
about the head size, i don't know.. i tried getting it smaller again and it wasn't bad (i didn't saved tough) will resize later, after the rest of the body is done..

i redesigned almost the entire armor, made it more evil and hi-tech..
it can be an armor with artificial intelligence, in perfect symbiosis with the entire body (the main processing unit is that big collar around the neck, with other secondary units in legs and arms)
the tentacles are like cats whiskers, full of sensors that scan the surrounding enviroment, and the tip is provided with micro-sub-tentacles that can connect to every computer interface, for hacking purposes

Man, I loved this proportions, although they don't look natural, they have a lot of personality. I love long people, like top models, and your concept is more or less on this line. She looks pretty good.
I think you could make her torso a bit longer and put her breats a little bit up. And that's it.

That looks great! You might want to make her legs a bit shorter though, they seem just a bit too long. good luck with the modeling

thanks for the comments..
just finished modeling torso and legs, slight change of proportions (again!)..
arms coming next! (and i hate modeling fingers.. argh!)

nice original concept. This one has much potential. Modeling's looking good too. I'm keeping an eye on this.
