You're building up quite a collection there.

Good job.

well, since i don't have a membership at LWG, i can't d/l the models to check them out. however, judging by the pictures, i'm betting all the planet meshes are perfect spheres, eh? and I know most of those image maps are from J.H.T's Planetary Pixel Emporium, as well as some from the JPL. you don't mention them at all on that "download" page.

I just really, really want to ask (no matter how harsh I may seem right now): did you do any research on the planets for this? For example: Saturn's far from a perfect sphere, bulging at her equator because the planet is almost completely gas and has a very fast rotation (more than twice as fast as Earth's). plus the inner and outer radii of the rings on Saturn and Uranus are way off, and the color maps (and transparency maps, too, i bet) are backwards.

That's handy then - you don't need to be a "core" member; and if membership "is" required it's only for the forums - so if you want them to analyze it's a simple 5 minute job to register and grab them..

Yes... even though nearly all of the planets rarely are - if anyone felt it really necessary to get them 100 percent dimension wise - they know where modeller is...

If you don't like that "download" page then don't visit it - Nowhere did I find a statement that said that the "publicly" available maps required credit - from any of the sites I obtained them - and thus none is provided. If credit is required - it's given and vice versa - besides - I have at no point claimed I made them myself - so what's the problem?

Nope - I didn't do any research at all - well, not for the Saturn or Uranus meshes anyway - you see for the last 3 years hardly anyone has been arsed to download them at all and I've never seen them in any renders..and never had anyone contact me complaining that they were anatomically incorrect - well until now..

I hope I'm not being too harsh

Thanks for pointing that out to me - if you look now you should see that they have been adjusted and rectified to be more "correct" - they aren't perfect naturally but they're good enough I think

hahahaha

Darth_Fabio: i would have downloaded the actual meshes by signing up at LWG, but any attempt to do so would freeze IE (still wondering why, actually). that's why I had to go by the pictures alone.
