Character Rigging Plugins

Advanced apologies if this has been asked & answered before or it's in a FAQ somewhere.

I came across a recent post elsewhere on CgT that discussed an automated rigging plugin for Lightwave. I am curious if there are other such type of plugins available (free or $$$) for the other major apps. I do not use Lightwave anymore. I am focused mainly on max, XSI, and am getting my feet wet with Maya PLE.

Can someone post the info or web links to these if they exist?

Cheers all!

Here are a couple for Maya:

Here is one for Max:

From what I understand, XSI has some built in. Hope it helps.

Thanks, LP. You're right about XSI. It's actually a very good rigging tool- probably the best out there, imho. I just thought there still might be third party ones for Soft'. I'm going to check out these links for max and Maya now...

there's also "autorigger", to be found on highend3d i think.

but i still have a faint feeling there's at least one other autorigger missing for maya in this list

hehe, i'm not exactly hinting at something but rather asking a question if someone knows another autorigger for maya.

i thought i stepped over 4 or even 5 scripts/plugins that to autorigging for maya over the last couple of months.

unfortunately i kind of lost track of all those scripts. i wasn't interested in all that auto-rigging stuff then but am now. doh

We've released The JointFactory, a free pro autorigger for Maya developed for a feature film made in Norway and Britain.

Here's another one for max I just saw posted today. Haven't played with it yet.

Michael Comet's is about the best I've seen max-wise -- unless you get into Character Studio which is a pretty spiffy rig, especially now that it can have sub-animation controllers on bones.
