Batch Tool

So I wish to take about 50 PDS images, and convert them all to a different compression type at once. I looked it up in help, it didn't really explain how to go about doing this, maybe I didn't find the right page. How can I use the batch tool to accomplish doing this? Does it require knowledge in scripting?

you need to also look up "Actions." Actions are basically macros that you record then use the automate fuction to run a batch with. For exampe, if you want to resize 1,000 photos to 640x480 you would:

open actions palette
create new action
press record (now anything you do will be recorded)
resize image to 640x480
press stop
go to automate/batch and setup your batch using this action you just created

Alternatively you could use a program like Irfanview to do a batch conversion. This is usually quicker than Photoshop.
