particles attached to surface and following greyscale animation

Is there any way to get Pflow attaching particles to a surface with an animated bitmap?

Say i have a plane with a black to white grad on it. I animate the grad going left to right, and i want the particles to follow the animation.

Hy lironmuffin!

Use a position object.

Make sure Animated Surface and subframe sampling is checked for good results. Check density by material as well and select grayscale.

depending on how fast your particles should move you might set the integration step higher or lower...

if you want the particles to move but stick to the surface you might give the demo of particle flow tool box by oleg B. a try (

kind regards
