Question Graphics Cards for Macs

Hey, I know a heap about Macs generally, but don't know a lot about graphics cards at all. I was wondering if someone has patience enough to answer this question: My G4 has a graphics card already (duh) but what are the other slots next to it used for? More cards? Extra video RAM (If there is such a thing)? There's four of them.
I told you I know nothing about cards. (That is, if these are for graphics stuff at all..)
Thinking is your escape...

Your current G4 is most likey to have its graphics card in the AGP slot, this is faster than the pci slots.

You have one 64-bit pci slot at 33mhz and the rest are 32-bit at 66mhz.

You can use the other slots an extra video card that is PCI (ATI radeon or radeon 7000 only budget choise) to run another monitor to mirror the desktop.

Also add a scsii card to attach a faster HD's, add a firewire or USB pci card for more slots.

Pro video cards for video compression by digital voodoo and matrox, add sound card for sound editing or to gain surround sound, ahhh errrmm.... cant think of anything else right now..
