Fiat 600 being attacked by red cubes

Hi, this is my first post.
I´ve made this animation as a part of a short movie.
The shot has been taped in HD. The tools I´ve used are Maya 7 and Combustion 4.
I hope you like it.

Very nice, I love the detail in the collisions. Now, if it had sound to accompany it, for presentation, it'd be a hell of a lot snazzier.

Oh man, that was great! I had an old Fiat 500 (the smaller version of the 600) but with an Abarth engine when I was in Italy hehe! What a great car, it's like driving a kart!

I think AndersonW is right: with the sound it will be excellent! And you can also improve a little bit the shaders. But the details are amazing. Great work, I hope to see more!

Wow, very funny! Can you tell me more about how do you deformed the car as it hits the ground and what do you use as reference. Keep rendering!
Bad English, sorry!

Thumbs up Cool

Cool piece.

Everything is kinda well-made and I had fun watching it, just one comment from a non-VFX person... I feel like the car still needs color-correction or something to do with shader, seems to be a bit standing out from your live footage.

This is just a funny thought ... eventhough it said in the title already "Fiat 600 being attacked by red cubes" but the first time the cube comes into the screen, my brain still tell me that something's off, but cubes attacking the car is very interesting idea and I'd like to see your short movie when it's done

I started the animation wit a simple path curve. When the car is hit by the cube it becomes a children of a hidden low poly car that jumps and bounce over the ground. then I baked the simulation and translate the keyframes during the impact in (-Y). then I squashed the fiat´s roof with a Lattice deformer, so it stays above the ground.

Wow, that made me laugh so much. Wonderful microfilm.

The shaders on the car do seem a tick off, but I don't think anyone watching it whose not a CGI person would notice.

AWESOME JOB! I love watching scenes like that in movies.

awesome!!! The animation is topnoch, great simulation on the particles. nice cameratracking, altho when I wached the clip a couple of times I noticed some bumping of the white car when it was hit by the last cube and bounced of to the air... it's barely noticeable...

great work
