WIP - Street Environment

I recently begun working on a street environment and im a few hours into it already, Ive used a temporary car model taken from www.3dkingdom.org. Im going to begin texturing soon but had a question about the mapping of objects. I plan to have all objects(street lamp, barrel, mail box) in one texture map but should i do the same for the buildings or would it be best to have one building per map?

I think its best to use one texture map per item. And you should use tiling textures for the main parts of the buildings and create smaller texture maps on detailed parts. Atleast thats what i have been doing and in general i think most people do but im no expert i have just started out modelling my own city map
