Hey there I'm just crazy busy around here, so I didn't even start modeling yet *lol*

I decided to take a short look around to see how the modelings are going.
Everybody doing just great, then I see yours...

That's a Kartari... I have one real just here by my side now.. *lol*
My digital camera is not around at this very moment, but I will get it later (around 10hs from now) will shot some better references for you( if you wish so ).
That maybe help you out to perfect it. It has a sharp edge at the bottom and normally much more complex details on it. You did started it well, but I'd rework it a little bit.
It can be considered an axe yes, but we use to call it 'kartari knife' it works nowadays as Tibetan Buddhist instrument, it symbolizes the cut of your ego and attachments.
But it is originally an instrument to cut the flesh of dead people, bones and separate organs... working as a knife as well an axe.
That's where the symbolism of cutting through ego comes from.
The details on the top of your blade are very nice, it's a Makhala monster, the time-eating monster, symbolizing the impermanence of all things. My cam has 5.1 M pixels I'll shot and upload the refs for you later if you wish so, it will show better the details than on your reference.

Keep it up ! Best wishes !

Forgot to mention...

this image of yours:
http://img.majidonline.com/pic/34406/axe%2003.jpg

Is just awesome good render !
Very nice details and so...
The very only thing that bothers me a little is the egde of the blade and some roundness on very few parts of it. But judging from you reference... you're very very good modeler !
Cya later !

Thumbs up

Djampa thanks alot for your comments about the work and informing me about Kartari.
if it is possible to you the refrence itself is a nice image to have and also can help too much to make it more close to the real one(if i find time for it).

thanks shouroujin

Hi there, sorry for being so late...

I got my computer that day toasted... processor, video card and power...
I had to buy a new one... and I still didn't installed all necessary software to work here... almost there... *lol*

My webserver for hosting hi-res pics is down now... next week will put it back up.
So here are some refs, tell me if you need more or specific angles.
Sorry for the bad light and pics.

Kartari is it's sanscrit name, in tibetan is Drigug.

Here they go:
