Unhappy Major DVD authoring problem

I've just started using the trial version of ADobe Encore 2, it seems good for what i need and a widescreen DVD i made looked awesome in PowerDVD. Problem: The dvd looks like garbage in everything else, software players and set-top boxes. it looks sort of blocky, low-res and interlaced, i'm not sure what's causing this, but then again i'm a dvd newb

i'm not sure where the settings are in encore to control bitrate etc, but i don't think its related to that 'cause it works well in powerdvd...? any help would be awesome.

i have been working on Encore 2 before (made a Published DVD) and you gotta know this...
When you burn your video... you either "interlace" it so it works on PC Only (maybe also on new Flat TVs dunno) or you dont interlace at all... because the TV interlaces the video automaticly...

But... it could also just be the compression... bitrate and what not

but i dont know

Regards

hi thanks for reply - i finally found the transcode settings that control compression and interlacing, so i tried a burn with no fields (progressive frame), but same result. works perfect in powerDVD, crap in everything else. i don't understand why they handle it differently.... it looks as though interlacing is the problem, but that doesn't make sense because powerDVD displays it non-interlaced...
