Rendering shaded wireframe

Does anyone know how to fix the bug where in rendering out my scene in shaded wireframe only produces a completely black image? I have v9.51e, and was told that that was a bug. Thats the latest version for 9.51, so am I screwed, and have to upgrade to get it fixed? Please help! Thanks.

I'm on pentium 3 700 mhz Win XP Home. I've asked around and people say its a bug that started in like version 9.5p. My luck is that it just continued to be a problem for me all the way til last version of 9.5. So we'll see. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to fix the problem? Thanks.

Ah there you go, switched to D3D. Works great. Thanks so much! Out of curiosity what is the newest version of Direct 3D? I have version 8. Should I upgrade, can I? Thanks again!

if i'm not mistaken you can't update direct3d directly
you'll most likely have directx8.1
(& that is containin the d3d engine version, just guessing)

there is ms directx9 out now
but i did encounter some probs with my grafix-card & tv-out
& the latest nvidia-drivers are totally screwing up my system
now i stay with the 32.80 drivers which rock with directx9

btw d3d version is still the same in directx9
