Talking Atlantis: Daniel Bragg, Jr. : Escape from Atlantis

Hello,

this sounds like a fun challenge to improve my matte painting skills so I figured i'd give it a shot.

I think for this idea I want some old greek / roman architecture.

-The original image posted has been pulled due to unintentional similarity of another artists work. These are all new thumbnails. I'm just trying to hammer out a composition and interesting storyline.

-Update- Gonna go with the "Escape from Atlantis" theme ;D

Most recent WIP~

welcome to the challenge! I like the composition, the dark cave walls give it a very elegant look

oh

shiat, miguel is right, that looks exactly like the one in d'artiste! not exactly but VERY similair
you have gone for the same mood, the same building styles, the same peprspective,
are you so uncreative that you couldnt put ONE single element in before looking at
the picture of D'artiste... ????
(hahah, even the window lights look the same, oh no, you replaced those fishes
with a diver.. sooo creative...)

I hope im soooo wrong, but I doubt I am..

I just had an idea. Basically, i'm not sure if this will work or not for this contest but, I thought it was kind cool anyway.

Basically, atlantis is a thriving underwater city. But, people live there and they are shielded from the water above. They still can go out into the water but, they have to go through air locks. Basically, its like a huge underwater civilization. This is just a quick speed paint to show what i'm talking about.

I'll try and paint as much as possible then add photo texture towards the end.

I decided to go with my original idea and show a scene of a diver escaping from Atlantis.

dile: for your information I'm a featured artiste in that book with 4 images, I think Reikon learned the lesson , from now on please guys focus on the challenge and techniques
keep it up Reikon the last one I think is really good idea, but not focus just on a hallway matte painting is about complex enviroments that cannot be created in normal production set.
