Doing Text

Hi I need to do some text using basic text in afterEffects,

The quality of the text is really bad. it is pixelated and the letters are not evenly on a base line.

Does any one know if there is a better way to do text in aftereffects?

thanks in advance

select "best quality" on your timeline on your text layer (it's the forward slash/dotted backslash thing). if it's happening in your render make sure you set "best settings" there, too.

Great, I read somewhere that you have to do the text in illustrator and then transfer it to after effects.

I can do this, but it seems a more cumbersome workflow, so I'll try adjusting the render quality settings

thanks

You can also made text in Photoshop and than save it as PDF. That way you have same control as with Illsutrator files.
