Question Typical number of hours worked in a week?

I was just curious after seeing some various posts here and there about the number of hours game artists work in a week and so I thought I would take a survey here.

What is the "typical" number of hours a game artist works in a week when it is *not* crunch time? How bout during crunch time? And how long does crunch time normally last?

Just curious . . .

I work a 40 hour week here in the UK. At crunch time that easily goes up to 65/70 hours a week. This is the way things go.
I try not to work past 10.30 at night and no 24 hours things.

the problem with "crunch time" is that some places
tend to use that term to get more work out of their people,
and the "crunch time" will seem to never end(which really sux, unless ur a contractor, payed by the hour, hehe).

but yeah, i think about 50 hours a normal work week,
doing consisted 40 hour work weeks wont get you anywhere, but it wont get you fired either.

crunch time can get nutty, try 70-80 hour weeks
that much crunch is rare though, and wont last forever thats for sure.

also crunch time will vary from company to company,
it depends alot on how well the production schedule was done.

I agree working these long hours is crap, but it pays my bills, until I'm I've got enough to go it alone. Thats the ultimate dream I suppose for all of us...
