Photo Retouching

thought i'd post somthing a little different than the normal 3d stuff seen around here at CGtalk. Lately i'd been getting into photo retouching using Photoshop when i'm not working on my CG so here's a recoloring of an old pic of my grandpa I'm working on.

It gets kinda hard to see how everything's working after working on it for to for a while so lemme know what you guys think

I don't know much about photo retouching but that just looks insane! The coloring's great.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but his hat looks a little flat. Dunno if that's how it should be or if it's missing so sort of highlight to bring it out a bit.

that looks really great! how did you do it?

the shadow on the cap, right above his right ear, looks a bit strange, but maybe that's a compression artefact. the same where the left shoulder meets the neck.

hey, thanks for the feedback guys, i'll take a looks at those couple points mentioned and see if I can get 'em fixed.

As far as the method goes, it was just using alot of various adjustment layer set at different blending modes dedpending on the need then doing some hand touchups and tone variation on top of that.
