Short animated film WIP - "Calvin and the Dragon'
Hey, I'm a n00b.
I'm working on a 3d animated short film project for uni this year with neongod, who will be joining us as soon as he works out how to get his confirmation email. It is about a young kid (named Calvin) who ends up fighting a 20-meter long dragon (aka 'the Dragon'). Obviously the storyline has a little more meat than that, but until we can show some of it animated I suppose its the characters and settings which would be of more interest.
It is getting close to the end of the first semester, and here are some pics from it to date:
(Note: I'm sorry, but I can only provide a link to pages containing the pictures, not the pictures themselves. I don’t know their actual file path and i suck at the Internet too badly to figure out how to get them)
The most recent is a comparison of Calvin and the dragon. Calvin is finsihed, but the dragon still needs to have his wing membranes weighted and facial morpsh so he can snarl. He has nice sharp teeth that are anatomically the same as a dog's, so hopefuilly once that's finished he will look... unfriendly.
some final clips:
Here you can see the style of what it should look like, including some of the effects like gold and such. I will be honest here, everything in here was done by neongod, not myself.
Anyway, if you want to see any more of the project then have a look around the site. Sorry again for not being able to post individual jpegs, i would if i could find the paths.
Anyway those are some of the main shots we have to date, so please feel free to give us any comments or criticisms. It's a massive project and we are... understaffed somewhat... but any help in the form of feedback anyone is willing to offer would be appreciated.
