Question Help, Texture Editor Crashing...!

I'm new to Lightwave and 3d in general. I'm running Lightwave 6.5 on a
beige 300 mhz mac desktop, OS 9.1 with 320 megs of ram. Everytime i try to
load a jpeg texture file in the texture editor, lightwave crashes. It
seems to work fine with bmp texture files though, but i really don't
understand why jpegs are not working correctly. Any suggestions...?

300 Mhz? I think you need to get a better computer.

Yeah, you're probably right. This computer is pretty damn dated. I'm researching cross platform compability for different 3d apps on machines of varying performance capabilites. Right now i've also got CINEMA 4D XL 7 running on the same computer and it's never crashed ever...well maybe once or twice but that was probably due to the whole being dated thing. If anyones got any idea on what else i could do please let me know. Thanx!

sounds like either your config file is missing some text or you need to install the jpeg image handler plugin. Or both.

I've run 7b on a 266 G3 with 282 megs ram and it operates ok, and that's with the stock ATI(shudder) graphics card. I left the mac platform a few years ago and I'll NEVER go back.

Chewey, you rock!

I initialized the config file and now everything runs peachy fine again. Thanks for the info.
