Hi all,

I've been hovering around the forums for a couple of years now. This is my first ever entry.

My idea here is basically a kid standing over a cliff looking into a city that looks as if it spawned from the centre of the earth. The city has to look epic, with lots of lights, and very busy. I plan for the architecture to be a mix of modern and goth-like, chronicle of riddick style almost.

All crit's are most welcomed.

Sketches of some of the elements I intend to have in the foreground.

A little WIP on the foreground character. He's gonna appear pretty small so I'm trying to create only necessary details and not overdo it. The city is gonna be the main focus.

Bike for the foreground. As with the character, I'm leaving out lotsa details just cause it's gonna be pretty small. The idea is to get it to look good enough at that size.

Wohoo...finallly, a comment. Thanks Sathe. Yup, I'm planning to put alot of work in textures since I feel they make the most impact(ok, maybe it's head to head with lighting) for what I'm doing here.

thanx

Camera test. Since the final goal is a still image, I've decided to get the camera set before moving on to modelling the city. This way, it'll help me in modelling in the most optimal way...I hope. Placeholder objects are used for the land and buildings. This will be replaced progressively as I start since buildings will vary in shape and size.
