C4D to Flash and or Swift
Hi, I'm looking for some advice on producing flash animation from C4D. I did a search here and found that there hasn't been a post about this in about a year. At that point, as I understand it, the situation was this:
C4D's flashEx is not terribly powerful if you're after anything shaded.
Swift 3d can produce some nice stuff, but you need to go via Lightwave or Max.
C4D's FBX, DXF and 3DS exports do not pass a full scene along to the other apps. I could be wrong here in that my version of Lightwave does not seem to open FBX and I believe it should.
An app called polytrans is supposed to support full export to Max, but it is PC only.
Just wondering if there's been any change in all this stuff in the past year?

unfortunately, things are not any better.
flashex: can accomplish some very basic line stuff (but will be maddening)
swift3D: all you can do with C4D is model, then export 3DS to swift for everything else
FBX: I thought FBX sent most everything, but I have not used it...
polytrans: yep PC only
The only thing you did not mention was the sketch and toon module. With it you can export a series of illustrator frames into Flash. With some fiddling, you can get pretty nice stuff. I have found the file sizes are too large, though (maybe someone has sorted the S and T to Flash pipeline better...maybe they'll post a message to tell us how to do it).
P.S. most apps just license the RAVIX engine (from the makers of Swift3D) for in-app SWF creation. It appears Maxon will not do this, as they don't want someone else's code inside the app (which ultimately is probably a good idea...).

These guys have a few tips in their "interview" section. Don't really like how damn busy their site is, but they do some good work, and certainly know C4D and Flash.
