Concept Sketch: Grand Theft Reindeer

This is a rough idea. I thought of 2 kids that may have stolen one of Santa's Reindeer. I'm not sure who the angel is, a guide of some kind, but I want him to have mechanical wings embedded in his body. There is a floating city (which I'll need to gather reference for) and landscape under the clouds in the distance. I'm a new member and this is my first challenge. It should be fun!

Welcome to the challenge, Sandra! This is looking good... Very distinct and eye-grabbing palette! And a novel concept, too.

As for the layout, you may want to experiment with opening up the page more, especially on the left: The angel feels compositionally just crammed in there, being squooshed in by the left and top borders of the frame and the rocks on the bottom. To convey the excitement of flight, it might help to give him some more breathing room so that his wings aren't so cramped... Or maybe yuo could just make him smaller by pushing him more into the foreground, leading the way...?

Anyhow, good luck with it, and have fun!

Thanks, I'll add more space to the left (and maybe to the top) to give the angel more breathing room. Maybe I should add more to the right also, so I can make the floating land mass wider, so I can render more buildings.
