Concept Sketch: First concept

This is the first concept i have in mind. Essentially some woman looking from a mountain top above a city in ruins, with a glimmering futuristic city in the background, eventually the figure's destination. I am thinking of removing the mountains

Concept Sketch: Second Concept

I think ive decided on this concept, its basicly the same idea but ive changed around the composition. im going to begin to model a low res scene, to make sure there are no perspective or lighting errors, then paint over it.

Your newest concept is definitely your strongest, and it's one of the most ambitious entries; It should take a lot of effort to paint. If you can do this, which I'm sure you can, it'll def be one of the most strongest pieces. Lookin forward to c how this develops.

mmm the theme isnīt yet well defined so it appears only as a static landscape you need a history to tell

good luck and keep up

Line Art: Lineart / 3d

This is my so called "line art", the base rendering that i will begin to constuct my scene with. i purposely made the buildings fairly simple to speed up the process, and to make sure i didnt cheat too much by making everything 3d before id even started. i am in the 2d challenge section after all.

Coloring WIP: colouring progress

My first post of the colouring stage. im not sure if im happy with the lighting, i might change it to look more like a foreboding, epic journy, and less like a sunny day. i have used photos in a matte painting-like composition, im not sure if this is allowed but there was no accurate way i could paint those cliffs. still a LOT of buildings to paint, more landscape to paint etc. comments and crits are most welcome

Very interesting to see your WIP and its certainly an imposing image. I'd like to know more about the back story and characters....

Coloring WIP: Huge update

hey again, its been a while since my last update. i got flooded with a lot of assignments for my graphics course so i sort of lost interest in this image for a while, but im back on the job and im finding time to work on it most days. i changed the sky which completely changed the atmosphere of the picture, i think it looks a lot more epic now. ive been staring at it far too long already and i dont even think im past the halfway point, so some crits and advice would be very helpful, thanks.

ps. sorry for the low quality image, i'll post some detail shots soon
